§ 2. Administration.

2-1. [Appointment of agent; appeals.] The Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, hereinafter referred to as the board, hereby appoints the Tazewell County Planning Commission as the agent who is hereby delegated the authority of administering this ordinance. Approval or disapproval by the agent shall constitute approval or disapproval by the board. In the event a plan for subdivision is disapproved by the agent, the subdivider may appeal the disapproval to the board, in accordance with the procedures hereinafter set forth, which may then reverse the decision of the agent and approve the plat.

2-2. Duties. The agent shall perform its duties in accordance with the terms of this ordinance and Article 6 of Chapter 22, Section 15.2-2240 et seq. of the Code of Virginia.

2-3. [Agent] to consult. In the performance of its duties the agent may request opinions and decisions, either verbally or in writing from other departments and agencies, including, but not limited to, the Virginia Department of Transportation resident highway engineer, the local health officer, the Tazewell County Engineer and the Tazewell County Public Service Authority.

2-4. Additional authority. In addition to the regulations herein contained for the platting of the subdivisions, the agent may from time to time, establish any reasonable additional administrative procedures deemed necessary for the proper administration of this ordinance, provided such procedures comply in all respects to the Code of Virginia and other applicable laws.
